The site for the Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) has now been cleared and is ready for the next phase of construction.
As the year draws to a close, the AIID would like to thank all the building site neighbours for their patience and cooperation during the early works and demolition phase of the project.
Work on the building site will pause over the Christmas break, then resume in the new year with the commencement of piling works. Once the piles are in place, excavation for the building’s two underground basement levels will commence and continue into the second half of 2026.
Meanwhile, the tender process for the main construction contract is ongoing, with the successful bidder expected to be announced in mid-2026.
