Since the AIID facility concept designs were unveiled in June, a significant volume of work has been underway to develop schematic designs.
Wardle architects has been working closely with a range of user groups comprising Foundation Partner staff to ensure the AIID building meets the needs of end users.
Throughout September a series of “page-turn” presentations has been delivered to the user groups to support the provision of feedback on Schematic Design. The AIID Project Team is grateful to everyone who is contributing to the feedback process.
A tender process is currently underway to engage an early works contractor who will be responsible for demolishing existing buildings on the site and undertaking preparatory works to facilitate the building’s construction.
Preliminary works around the building site, including the relocation of a telecommunications tower and the underground placement of overhead powerlines, are also set to commence this year.
With demolition due to commence in the first half of 2024, the AIID facility is edging closer to reality and we look forward to sharing further updates as it progresses.
