Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) Foundation Partner leaders met with the new Minister for Health, Health Infrastructure and Medical Research, Mary-Anne Thomas.
University of Melbourne Vice Chancellor Duncan Maskell, Doherty Institute Director Professor Sharon Lewin, Burnet Institute Director & CEO Professor Brendan Crabb and University of Melbourne Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) Professor Jim McCluskey (pictured L-R), met with Minister Thomas to discuss the AIID.
Minister Thomas was briefed on the project progress to-date, the program of works going forward and involvement of the Victorian State Government.
The Victorian State Government has committed $400 million to the development of the AIID facility, and an additional $75 million to the Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics which will be housed in the facility.
